Day 25-26 / Tag 25-26 Thu April 6 - Fri April 7 Getting better. Prepare to leave

DAY 25, Thu April 6
I feel a lot better after that night's sleep
tried a French Toast with honey for breakfast, could eat only half
Took all my stuff from the dive center, trying to dry it before the flight. Had 23.5 kg on the flight here, dont want to leave with 28.5 and extra luggage fees...;-)
Built a wind chamber to dry my stuff:
Engine 1: Check

Engine 2: Check

Engine 3, Afterburner/Booster: Check

Welcome to the DDD: Daddy's Drying Den!

Note the fake leg on the last foto: Always good to have three legs, can use one to keep the bathroom door open!

weather is as bad as during my last specialty course, glad I cancelled the one for today
Took a warm shower at Leo's bungalow (I have cold water only)
Rebecca from Leo's group says good bye, going to some other island
the two youngsters go for dinner together
I have a Gin Tonic at Fishbowl, just in case the fever returns ;-) , watch the usual suspects on the beach, burmese fire dancers
Shotby hand, no tripod, sorry

and all the kids go: Aaaawwsome!, but none of them gives tip

I go to sleep in the second, unused bed in the bungalow, feels great, mostly dry linen...

DAY 26, Fri April 7
Almost done! I can get up with no problem, ears equalize easily, no more extraordinary mucus from my nose, only my hearing is still muffled, I am able to eat a breakfast at Blue Water, real Capuccino, cheesecake with passionfruit covering on an incredible chocolate dough bottom, and a small can of English Breakfast Tea.
This is our last day on Koh tao. Did I mention it's raining all the time?
I pay Leo a massage at my favorite place, Impress Massage, on the same corner as Coffee Boat Restaurant, Prick Thai Resort, Bamboo Tattoo and Scuba Junction. The ladies were really happy to see me  after one year, " Ooh, this your son? handsome boy!". Especilly Eet, who gave me massage here two years ago and  I missed her last year, was happy to see me again.
Eet, Volker, Leo

After massage we played around a bit with the little girl from the scooter rental across the street (they are really good neighbors on this corner here), chatting and laughing together. I knew that girl as a bundle of Pampers already...

Took a detour to the Fishbowl for a Happy Hour Gin Tonic, well, no fever anymore, but you never know, better go safe and hanve some medication, just in case...;-)

And all the kids went: Aaaawww, again and noone, again, gave tips. I tip every busker on the street and do so for the fire guys.
these guys live from their tip box...

On my way home I found the secret South East Asia branch office of the German Secret Service, Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND:
secrtely tucked away between Fishbowl and Leo Beachbar

Late in the evening Leo and I sit to chat with Bao, my tattoo artist, across the walking street from Rainbowfish Divers, I bring a pack of L&MBlue, his favorite cigarette, he is  talking to Leo most of the time. I like. We had talked about getting a compass tattoo after the Navigation course, but no course, no tatto, that easy. I say good bye and see you next time, brother, off to the damp bungalow to pack my bag. Didn't know then, but next morning I was lucky I had everything ready and done.

Leo came by after half an hour, bringing me a gift from Bao, a buddha figure made of clay, and showed me the gift Bao had made for him: a buddha figure n a waterproof triangular case, with wood carved around it. The same one Bao wears himself. I explained to Leo, that tis was agreat gift, no tourist crap, and Bao obviously likes him very much. Hope he gets this spiritual meaning.

Sleep in that less damp second bed again, so nice.
Leaving Koh Tao tomorrow, a new Advanced Adventurer Diver, and a more educated older diver.

See you under water
