I booked the morning boat to have good odds for Chumpon Pinnacle.
Leo is on the same boat, doing his last two dives for Open Water Diver

Father and Son on the same boat. Last two dives for Leo, then he is OWD! |
The owner of the dive school and the management are on the same boat, Stefan and Pooh. Stefan is the boss, and Pooh runs the business. There is nothing you cannot ask her. She can even get you out of jail at 2 am, we had that case last year (not me, of course, I am a decent senior citizen). Pooh dives like two times a year.

My guide is Sabrina, a very kindhearted and attentive instructor, we have two more guys with us, who I met here last year. No problems equalizing, the pressure cleans my tubes and sinusses..., feeding fish after surfacing π
Great dive, big school of Fusiliers, Great Barracudas, Groupers and more. Chumpon Pinnacle is always worth a visit
40 minutes on a 180 bar tank, average depth 17 m, coming up with 50 bar sharp. Still 12 L/min.. .
Leo takes this stuff serious, calms down before the dives finishing his Open Water with these two dives.

Calming down before the dive |
We met underwater, I took a bad picture of him from too far, because I didn't want to distract him.

Leo greeting me from far, underwater at Chumpon Pinnacle. Looks very comfortable in the water |
So much for now: This boy sure seems to have some fun in the water! (Later in the afternoon he will ask me, if he can borrow 7200 Baht from me for the Advanced Adventurer course!...This is definitely a purpose I lend out money forπ)
Second dive is Twins, well known dive site and pretty crowded this morning. I use the dive to play with my compass, take some pictures, and have a good time,

always Marco in my ears:"Nice and easy, guys, nice and easy!" Looking forward to seeing you in one week's time, buddy!
Surfacing after 60 minutes at the boat, consumption 9.8 L/min.. Getting better...
Leo and Rebecca from his group are now certifed Open Water Divers! Waaahooooo!!!

To give you an idea of the place: vis-avis Diza Bar. No, not the backyard....;-) |
DAY 22 / Tag 22 Mon. April 3rd
A No-Dive-Day for me again.
Leo starts his next course today, Advanced Adventurer. Today it's Buoyancy and Navigation, tomorrow Deep and Wreck. Unfortunately they don't do Nightdive anymore, I was completely thrilled with it when I did my Advanced 3 years ago.
My humble gift for his OWD is a 10 liter Drybag, because he always wants to borrow mine ;-)
There is a rule at this dive center: No student takes cameras with them during the OWD course. But this is Advanced! He takes my GoPro3 and the small knog qudos light for the Advanced Adventurer Dives and takes his first underwater footage. Here's only some Selfies
Meanwhile, at the Dive Center I talk to Hannes, the equipment guru and try to explain, that I want my fins a bit stiffer, because they are pretty soft. Especially against currents I have to work a lot. So we took a try, only on one.
Customizing from Vo Sta on Vimeo.
Fact is, the next day I tried them, on the left leg ok, but on the right, the one with the prosthesis, the fin has so much counterforce that it tears my stump out of the silicon sock in the prosthesis. If I had kicked any harder it would have torn the entire prosthesis with boot and fin off my stump.
No good idea, but i tried ππ
Later did some Camera care, had a bad fever attack in the evening and went to bed early.
Tomorrow Specialty Perfect Buoyancy, I want to be ready
See you under water
