Day 84 / Tag 84 Sun June 4 San Francisco lazy sunday

Have to get used to that car. Booked a convertible, got a Ford Mustang. Man, I'm not used to these modern cars and automatic transmission.

I reset my camera to local time, that makes it a bit complicated to find the right pictures...

I decide to take a tour to the Muir Woods and Stinson Beach north of SF. This will take me over the Golden Gate Bridge and back. Toll is automatically collected by License Plate and covered in the rental agreement. So let's go!

Stop at the northern end of the bridge, of course, taking the usual pictures here, and finding out how to adjust that driver seat properly.

Muir Woods is full, no parking, I continue to Stinson Beach. Aaah, Pacific Ocean again.
I want Vitamin Sea, stay close to the big water as much as possible. Did you know that all continents of the earth would fit into the Pacific Ocean? That big...

Stinson Beach, from the hill

Stinson Beach, from the hill

It's Sunday. Out to the beach!

After walking the beach a bit and some ice cream at Parkside Stinson Beach I return south,

Highway 1 is closed, so I take the Freeway and over the bridge again. To the left: Alcatraz...

Alcatraz

Cruising through the Presidio, then into town, I'm getting used to that car now.

I take a detour up Lombard Street and down that famous spot,
Frisco has some crazy architecture

Lombard Street, Russian Hill

and down again

on to Fisherman's Wharf,

They still exist...

I have to eat a In 'n Out Burger just to get a foto of it I can send to my daughter. She likes the burgers so much.

On my way back to the parking lot (cost me a fortune, 2 hours $24...) I find a Shirt shop and buy an urgently needed longsleeve with fleece inside. California gets really chilly as soon as the sun goes down, especially here in the windy and foggy city of SF. I have it printed with a nice logo:

My Motel is on Lombard Street, at the back of the block, in Chestnut Street there is an Apple Store, I can finally replace that forgotten charger for the laptop and continue to write. The disk with fotos still doesn't mount, so I am reduced to words.
I take a walk to the Union Street Music Festival two blocks up the hill, but I'm too late, it's over as early as 6 pm.
Walk around Marina District in the evening, the bars are noisy and crowded with people watching a basketball game, too cold to take pictures, everything seems to close at 9pm, too tired to go further or even get the car out, I go to sleep, while laptop and phone are charging.

See you under water
