March 20, 2018 Here we go again...

After that epic 100 day trip in 2017, it felt so strange to get back into the business rat race, that I started booking again as early as August last year. Coming back into the working world in Berlin was harder than I had expected, my longing for coral, saltwater and fish made me book early again.

Starting early has pros and cons, you can
get early bird discounts, but you can also miss some nice opportunities showing up later, after you did your early bookings.
Like book a boat because you plan to meet someone, and then they quit, and you are stuck with your booking...

But, be it as it is, after a long flight from Berlin via Zürich to Phuket,

here I am, at Rassada Pier, Phuket, waiting for my ferry boat to Lanta. This trip will not bring new destinations, only diving deeper into new experiences of last year (diving deeper, hahaha, pun intended ;-)

After changing ferry in Koh Phi Phi,

we finally pull into Saladan, Koh Lanta.
Remember to have 10 Baht ready, it's the cleaning fee for the island, everybody arriving by boat has to pay.

I have 4 weeks this time, want to meet some friends I made over the years,
ABenz in Klong Kong built a new Lighthouse Bar, booked a 3 dives trip to Koh Haa with Kon Tiki Lanta, just to get into it again, might book another one to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang if I feel comfortable, I dived these two only once. A fifth trip with Pawara (see above), and finally a seven days trip on the Junk with Marco and Jerome, Jonathan, Tiger, hopefully Brian maybe, and Oliver, hoping to hoist sails this time.
Leaving Thailand, it will be Scuba Junkie on Mabul a second time, I enjoyed my time there so much I want to stay longer this time. Sipadan Shute is a top 10 dive site, and I really look forward to see Sharky Dionne, Cat Manarang and the rest of the bunch again.
Evelyn has left for Palau, Tom just finished a Raja Ampat trip, Ivan is a busy Padi instructor  in the Philippines, but Sharky, Jamal, Edvard and Azrul might still be around...

After 29 hours of travel I arrive at Lanta Bee Garden, we are all happy to see each other again, and after a Chang on the beach and a shower  I sleep 13 hours

Next morning I take a scooter, go to the bank for some Thai cash, pay the room and scooter and have aswim.
I’ll arrange my dive equipment for tomorrow’s Koh Haa trip, take a second swim and later head to the lighthouse bar in Klong Kong for a sundowner, see ABenz and his lovely family.
Life could be worse...;-)

See you under water
