Dive eat sleep repeat. Once in the groove, you can't imagine anything else.
minutes melt into hours, hours melt into days, quite often I don't have any idea, which date it is, let alone which weekday.

Mansur, called Pelos (Hair), and Monce, called Zeta (Z) |
Mansur, called Pelos (hair), is a funny guide, loves Eric Clapton, especially "Wonderful tonight". One evening I can make him happy with three different versions
Zeta
is the name for the guide Monce, some divers are not happy with him, he
doesn't show very much stuff on the reefs. Others have completely
different experience with him.
Ami likes to dive with a devil's hood, easily dinstinctable under water
17.5.
Currents are gentle, we have great dives after wake up call at 5:30...
 |
Entering the passage. Islands as far as the eye can see. |
Last dive at Fahrundi is really awesome, get dropped in a small sheltered bay and at 5 meters depth dive right into a wide cave that stretches down to 30 meters... Watch your MOD, Nitrox divers, its easy to drop down to 35 after leaving the cave.
Follow the reef and after 20 minutes you arrive at the corner to the passage between the islands with a current that can rip your hood off, better go back...
All together another great diving day, times between 55 and 70 min get the normal here, at depths down to 30, average dive depth around 19.

Dive Melissa's Garden, discovered by a guy now running two resorts nearby, and named after his daughter. Hard coral as far as your eyes can see, black tips and reef fish. Triggerfish attacks Pelos
I signal ascend after 70 minutes and at 50 bar, the girls want to continue, see the giant clam

Had an almost-out-of-air during safety stop, gauge at 15, getting pretty
hard to breathe, surfaced on the guide Ami's octopus. Calm, no panic,
tickle my tank, signal out of air, five or seven seconds later he is
there.
Training, exercise skills.

19.5.
Save my buddy as her first stage threatens to come off the tank at around 17 meters deep after 40 minutes into the dive, lot of air blowing out at the valve. I race to her like I never raced before under water, Alternate Octopus in hand, let go camera, lights, pointer stick. She is not aware of what's going on until I ask her to look at her gauge. Banging my tank for the guide, she accepts his octopus, together we fix the problem. Ami closes the tank, purges the reg, loosens the first stage a bit and fixes it again, opens tank again, I keep eye contact, second octopus ready, and we are done. O-Ring gone crazy...
Lesson learned: keep close to your buddy and check continuously...
