Day 6 / Tag 6 Too hot

Finally "in the clock" again, no more jetlag and waking up in the middle of the night.
Breakfast at Smile Thai in front of the Hotel, then on my way to get my DiveLog stamped at Seadragon, stopped and chatted a bit with Mam, the  hairdresser and scooter rental operator. We made friends on FB, she seemed very happy about it and smiled even more beautifully than the day before.

Having finished at SeaDragon, I tried to go to the Tsunami Museum, but went too far and ended up in Memories Beach again, had some more delicious food and a back and shoulder massage.
If you ever wonder, where Memories Beach is, Click Here
Beer o clock again, I cruised down the road south to Ban Yang and Nang Thong, changed money at the booth where they give me 2 Baht more on the Euro than at the airport, and asked for the Tsunami Museum. The lady in the booth smiled and said I was standing right in front of the entrance.
I had been looking for the signs all the time, but sometimes it's better not to search, but to find...

The International Tsunami Museum at 3 pm on a hot day in the blazing sun:

a memorial sculptural building with a surprisingly cool hallway,
The Memorial Sculpture

The hallway

a Policeboat that had been washed up 2 kilometers into the mainland by the waves, left there and then has been turned into a monument,
The Policeboat 813 at the International Tsunami Memorial Park

plus a small exhibition with an entry fee of 300 Baht for adults. Any donation on top will be used fo schools and educating children. The exhibition eplains clearly how Tsunamis develop, what warning signs you have to watch, and how to behave in case of a Tsunami.

I wrote my name into the Guestbook and left some lines for a colleague who died there during that Tsunami in December 2004.

Back at the Hotel, where I turned over my dive equipment for better drying, I received a message from Fernando, the Videographer I was looking forward to see tomorrow. Bad news, he just finished his last trip for that company and will not work there anymore. Now he is the third one to leave that boat before we had a chance to dive together and have a good time... I won't say too much here, but WTF is going on there?
Anyway, I am booked and I gotta go. Pack my bags again (no video this time ;)), checkout tomorrow morning, can leave my bags at Mam's, the beautiful hairdresser, scooter is rented until 6, pickup time for the boat is 7 pm.

Might as well go downtown and listen to some live music at Happy Snapper, why not?

The music was lousy, left after one Chang, stopped by the cheapest looking souvenir tourist trap shop and asked for fake tatto arm sleeves, got a pair for 120 Baht and put one on immeditely.
To me, it looks more natural, what do you think?

After
Have a good one,

See you under water 💦
