25.5, 07:05pm Tokyo time, 7 hours flight Tokyo to Honolulu
25.5., 07:05am Hawaiian Time, Arrival Honolulu

Starting at 7pm in Tokyo and arrive at 7am the same day in Honolulu, feels strange, somehow.
Saved a day, benefit of traveling counterclockwise...

Immigration in Honolulu takes just 5 minutes. Looking at my right leg, a lady in uniform asks:"Are you traveling on your own?" and takes me out of the normal waiting queue to the crew queue, where I am the only passenger (I will always travel in boat shorts from now on ;-). "Purpose of your stay?" "Dive vacation." "How long do you intend to stay?" "I will leave on the 10th of June." Fingerprints, stamp in passport, allowed until August, that's it.
I was prepared for another procedure, as recommended by the ESTA papers, had booked a fly-out-ticket to Mexico and Berlin, and a Hotel room in Honolulu, nothing of all that was asked for.
So I stood on Hawaiian soil like 15 minutes after landing.
Still had to fly to Kau'ai, where Julia and Brad waited for me. I had allowed some hours of stopover in Honolulu for immigration, which was not necessary, so I just hung out at the smokers corner, withdrew some cash at an ATM and had some Softdrink.

I flew Island Air, they leave from another Terminal, and I had plenty of time.
Leaving Oahu, heading for Kau'ai, passing Pearl Harbour

One hour later I touched down in Lihue, on the island Kau'ai, dragged my bag to the outside and waited like 5 minutes, when a U-Haul truck pulled up to the curb. Julia had told me they would rent a U-Haul.  "You must be Brad." "Yeah, Aloha."

Arrived after 44 hours, heading into the next adventure, diving Ni'ihau, supposedly one of the best spots in Hawaii, with dive professionals.

See you under water
